Notes to Self ‘Notes to Self’ parodies our banknotes and aims to challenge the prevalent hierarchy of values. Crafted from dishcloths, sponges and scourers, the notes draw attention to lowly tasks, often performed by women and still largely overlooked. The notes optimistically place women on banknotes in recognition of their importance in line with Caroline Criado-Perez’s recent campaign to keep women on banknotes.
