Kitchen Accidents

Kitchen Accidents documents a series of surreal situations for which different interpretations are possible.  The Happy Accidents of the Swing shows a green pot scourer swing from which a woman has supposedly fallen, although it is unclear how the accident happened.  Did she fall or was she pushed?  In Woman Interrupted a super-sized sponge scourer has landed on and trapped a woman within her own domestic space, whereas Reclining Woman shows the feet of a woman protruding from the slightly open oven door.  The seemingly impossible contortion raises questions about what has really happened and how the woman came to be there.  All of the images hold the possibility of menace below their initially humorous surface, together with the feeling of being overwhelmed by day-to-day life.
